Retrofutura has slowly grown out of years of study of knitting, knitting techniques, and knitting history.<\/p>\n\n

Retrofutura is my writing on knitting, knitting techniques, and about the publication of my designs that draw on many different sources of inspiration. The study of the original hand knitted objects in museum collections is interesting in its own right, but also a neverending source of inspiration. I also use old photos and patterns for inspiration, and sometimes just use my knitting needles to channel ideas that pop into my head.<\/p>\n\n

In the beginning, Retrofutura had a shop page, but I quickly became tired of running two shops. My other web page, Midgaards Have<\/a>, also has a shop. So I have decided that all products will be listed in one place: my shop Astrids butik<\/a>, where you’ll find yarn and patterns from Retrofutura and yarn, dyes, patterns, and seeds from Midgaards Have.<\/p>\n\n
